ThingTank HAWG Field Trip: George Brown College Machine Shop and Facilities

In our second trip in the HAWG field trip series we will explore the fabrication and prototyping facilities at George Brown College. This field trip will take place on April 2, 2012 – 3:30PM-5:30PM. Sign up below!

James McIntyre, Education Program Coordinator and Applied Research Coordinator will host the event and will show us:

  • the metal working machine shop
  • the 3D prototyping workshop including CNC mills and the 3D printer
  • the laser cutter and PCB board etching facilities
  • the home automation lab and the environmental technologies lab (tentative)

Jamie works extensively with local entrepreneurs and startups helping them develop prototype versions of their products. He has extensive experience in product design and manufacturing. Jamie will not only share the facilities available to innovators but he will also discuss the funding and support opportunities available through Ontario colleges.
